Mediability, together with our studio designer , has had the pleasure of working with the Research Council of Norway in the development of their new studio. The result has been a modern studio with four different zones for live production.

The system is based on NDI and Dante. All video and audio are distributed via a normal computer network. The production system is built around the Newtek Tricaster TC2 Elite. This device is a video mixer, audio mixer, graphics device, video player, recorder and streamer. The operation is adapted to the user’s wishes with compact control surfaces that can be operated by one or a few operators.

One of the requirements from the Research Council of Norway was that they wanted a functional studio that at the same time looked nice for users and guests. They wanted no loose cables and no cameras and other installations on the floor. The aim was to create a studio where you feel welcome when you enter the doors. “A bit like entering a cozy living room”, as Special Advisor and team leader for the Digital workplace, Jim Leine so aptly described it.

If we do say so ourselves, that was exactly how it turned out!

You can see the result of the work in this short film made by Jim, which shows the development from the old to the new studio. Enjoy!
